A Quiet Yakitori Spot Tucked Away from the City Center
A popular izakaya located just outside downtown Kitami City in Hokkaido has been renovated and reopened in June 2025 as "Sumiyaki no Oide," specializing in takeout yakitori and zangi while maintaining the same flavors. In addition to skewers such as chicken thigh, a selection of limited items based on available ingredients is also offered.

Yakitori made with carefully selected, 100% domestically sourced chicken and grilled over binchotan charcoal is a signature item that often sells out daily. A defining feature is the generous size of each skewer, which is larger than typical portions, offered at a reasonable price.

In addition to signature items such as yakitori and zangi, the menu also includes street-style dishes like grilled squid, making it a good choice for a quick stop during a drive. Limited items based on the day’s available ingredients are also offered, well-suited for dinner dishes or pairing with drinks and widely supported by the local community.
