Ancient Rice and Nutrient-Rich Rare Vegetables
Approximately a 14-minute walk from JR Kanonji Station, this direct sales shop offers carefully selected rice, ancient rice, and seasonal vegetables harvested from its own farm. On drink days held several times a month, handmade drinks and seasonal soups made with seasonal vegetables and fruit are served. Monthly bread-and-sweets days and eat-in days are also held.
Premium Rice Selection Including Ancient Varieties
The shop sells glutinous rice and non-glutinous rice grown with a focus on natural cultivation, along with three types of ancient rice: black rice, red rice, and green rice, rich in anthocyanins and minerals. Rice reserved in advance is prepared with freshly milled rice. Helpful recipes for bringing out the flavor are also shared.
A Natural Blue Herbal Tea with Changing Hues
A featured choice is butterfly pea, a blue herbal tea made with domestically grown butterfly pea flowers harvested by hand. Since the flowers of a legume plant are used as the ingredient, a bean-like aroma spreads gently. Adding lemon or honey changes the color to a pale purple, making this herbal tea appealing to both the eye and palate.
