A Sanuki Udon Restaurant Loved by a Wide Range of Guests
"Udon Tamakichi" serves Sanuki udon starting from 280 yen, offering a casual way to enjoy the regional specialty. The noodles, made with flour developed in collaboration with a major manufacturer, feature moderate firmness and a smooth surface, paired with dashi carefully prepared by craftsmen using premium iriko from Ibuki Island in the Seto Inland Sea, selected bonito, and kombu from Hokkaido. The restaurant also works with local farmers, using fresh local vegetables for tempura and side dishes, and the frying oil is made solely from high-grade vegetable oil, primarily soybean oil. Gaining attention through word of mouth, the restaurant has also been featured frequently on national television programs.
A Diverse Selection of Side Dishes
A wide selection of side dishes is available, including rice balls, inari sushi, sekihan (red bean rice), seasoned mixed rice, assorted oden, and prepared dishes (limited items). More than 20 varieties of tempura feature ingredients from both land and sea, prepared with high-grade vegetable oil made primarily from soybeans.
The Prefecture's First "Baby Priority Seats"
Reportedly the first in the prefecture to introduce "baby priority seating," the restaurant provides a setting where families with children can dine more comfortably. The seating arrangement allows parents and groups to spend time together at ease while enjoying a relaxed meal.
