Ibaraki
Osugi Shrine, founded in 767 (the first year of Jingo Keiun) in Awa, Inashiki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is the main shrine of about 670 Osugi Shrines nationwide, and is also affectionately known as "Ambasama." Due to the luxurious decoration of the shrine building, it is called "Nikko Toshogu Shrine of Ibaraki". Known as the "Yumemusubi Daimyojin", there is no end to the number of people who receive prayers for such things as the safety of their families, warding off evil spirits, warding off all directions, warding off stars, and dream-tying (love and fulfillment of wishes). It is said that if you receive the "Dream Fulfillment Prayer" called "Shigoku Mairi" three times a year, in New Year's Day, May, and September, your dreams will become bigger. We recommend a "three-year prayer," in which this prayer is continued for three years.
You can spend a lot of time just looking at the exhibits at museums and art galleries, but why not take part in the exhibitions and events held at various locations? Its charm is overwhelming, and some fans say they have fallen in love with museums and art galleries because of the special exhibitions. It is also refreshing to visit local shrines and temples and admire the Buddhist statues and gardens. There are some temples where you can experience meditation, sutra copying, etc., so why not knock on the gate and try a little spiritual training?
