One of the most recommended events is "Maiko wo Mederu Kai (an intimate gathering to enjoy the grace of maiko)". This two-hour experience offers the rare chance to interact with maiko in a small, friendly setting - an opportunity usually reserved for those with personal introductions (Ichigensan Okotowari). You’ll have the chance to admire their elegant dances and even take photos together - something normally considered inappropriate in traditional settings. It’s a unique and accessible way to experience the charm of Kyoto’s flower district culture.

A Heartwarming Event to Casually Interact with Maiko

The popular two-hour event "Maiko wo Mederu Kai" (an intimate gathering to enjoy the grace of maiko) at "Logi Usagi" allows you to get closer to maiko, who are usually seen only from afar. You can gather around your favorite maiko and interact with them in a friendly, small-group setting. Some participants even bring items or autograph boards (shikishi) for them to sign.

As you gaze at the graceful figure of a maiko in her tall okobo sandals and flowing darari no obi sash, you may feel as if you've stepped into another world. At this event, you can take a memorable photo with a maiko dressed in an elegant Furisode (long-sleeved kimono) with a trailing "susohiki hem" and adorned with a stunning "hana kanzashi hairpin".
