"Estate-Grown and Bottled Wine" from Shiwa, Iwate

At "Shiwa Winery", we are committed to the concept of "estate-grown and estate-bottled" wine production. We cultivate wine grape varieties such as "Riesling Lion" and "Muscat Bailey A" at our own "Shiwa Fruit Park Vineyard". In addition, we collaborate with local grape growers in Shiwa Town, Iwate Prefecture, to produce high-quality wines using carefully selected grapes. Visitors can observe the wine-making process firsthand, and our on-site direct sales store offers a selection of sparkling wines, barrel-aged wines, and limited edition bottles. There is also a tasting corner where you can sample wines, either for free or for a fee. Be sure to check out our annual grape picking event, which takes place from early to late September!

Enjoy a Tasting of "Estate-Bottled Shiwa Wine"

You can sample wines for free or for a fee, ranging from fruity flavors to rich flavors aged in wooden barrels, along with explanations from the staff. In addition to wine, you can also purchase 100% pure juice, snacks, sweets, and other items at the direct sales store attached, making them great souvenirs.

Harvest Grapes in This Hands-On Vineyard Event

The popular event "Grape Picking" at "Shiwa Fruit Park Farm", where you can taste large, sweet grape varieties such as "Fujiminori", "Aki Queen" and "Rosario Bianco", is held at the farm every year from early to late September. Enjoy the taste of exceptional grapes in the lush natural surroundings of Shiwa Town.

Pizza-Making Fun at the Hands-On Workshop

At the experience workshop, visitors can enjoy a hands-on "Pizza Making" session using a traditional stone oven (reservations required). The pizza is made with "Nanbu wheat" and "Yukichikara wheat" from Shiwa Town for the dough, topped with a special tomato and miso sauce, locally grown vegetables, sausages, and more, and pairs perfectly with wine from "Shiwa Winery".
