"Morioka City Zoological Park ZOOMO" in Iwate Prefecture is a nature-rich facility where animals are observed amid forest trails and hillside paths. Since its opening, the park has served as a beloved place of relaxation for many. Guided by the "One World–One Health" philosophy, the park is committed to conserving wildlife and natural environments, as well as promoting the well-being of both humans and animals. The expansive grounds, shaped to follow the natural satoyama terrain, feature around 300 mammals and birds across approximately 60 species. The area is also inhabited by wild creatures such as Japanese serows, foxes, and squirrels, creating opportunities to discover their traces while taking in seasonal insects and plants within the surrounding landscape.

Spanning an area equivalent to approximately eight Tokyo Domes (about 37 ha), this zoo is surrounded by a richly wooded forest.
