A Landscape Shaped by Imperial Palace Architecture and Nature

"Numazu Imperial Villa Memorial Park" was built in the Meiji era as a retreat for the imperial family, and is now a popular park where visitors can relax. Within the vast park, you can actually view "the West Annex", a palace building, which gives a glimpse into the precious lifestyle of the time. Depending on the time of year, special exhibitions that capture the seasons and culture are held, and "Cafe Shume", which preserves life in the Meiji era, offers meals unique to the Numazu Imperial Villa, such as curry made with recipes from the time and seasonal limited items. Parts of the landscape, which is suitable for a summer resort, such as the black pine forest and views of Mt. Fuji, have been designated as national scenic spots.

Enjoy the Stunning Seasonal Transformations of the Garden

In the expansive garden, there are many attractions that change with the seasons, including the "Plum Blossom Viewing Tea Ceremony" in early spring, a picturesque path of vibrant hydrangeas and wind chimes surrounded by fresh greenery in summer, and the "Chrysanthemum Exhibition" and Noh performance "Kurimeigetsu no Utage" amidst the autumn foliage.

A Quaint Café Preserving the Essence of the Meiji Period

At "Cafe Shume", which was renovated from the horse stables of the former main residence, we recommend the "Mt. Fuji Keema Curry", which is inspired by Mt. Fuji, and the "Imperial Residence Curry", which is based on a recipe from the Meiji period. For dessert, you can enjoy "Heda Tachibana Yokan", made with the historic citrus fruit "Heda Tachibana", as well as matcha and seasonal limited edition products.
